Destrehan Plantation

History

Date Built: 1787

The sands of Louisiana time seem to stand still for a moment at Destrehan Plantation. This majestic antebellum home watches over the banks of the great Mississippi River, just minutes from New Orleans. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Destrehan Plantation was established in 1787 and remains the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi River Valley.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, except on major holidays

Adults $15.00
Ages 6-16 $5.00

TICKETS for tours are purchased at the Museum Store located on the (eastern) right hand side of the property. 

Group Tour Rates - Special group rates are available for groups scheduling in advance. There is a nominal fee, which goes to further restoration and refurbishing of the house under the direction of the River Road Historical Society (a non-profit organization).
